Scotland Plein Air - Highlands

My greatest joy is painting outside, and although it’s wonderful to do it frequently, spontaneously, alone and totally in the zone, I also love painting alongside other plein air enthusiasts.

Plein Air Meetups in the Highlands, Scotland

Local artist meetup for casual plein air painting. We can carpool to wherever we want after we meet in the morning at the designated spot.

When: 2nd and/or 4th Sunday of each month.

Where: For now, we will meet at the Storehouse (Foulis Ferry, Evanton, Dingwall IV16 9UX)

Meeting Time: 11 am (leave by 11:15am sharp)

Join the mailing list to confirm your attendance - we will email each week to make sure everyone is on board.

Other details:

Weather: It’s Scotland! Hope for sunshine, plan for rain. If the forecast calls for rain all day, we might cancel, which is why it’s important to get on the mailing list.
Contact Procedure: Emails will be sent a few days before each meet-up to confirm details. On the (hopefully) rare occassion that there are last-minute cancellations, an email might be sent on the Sunday morning beforehand.
Once we meetup and get used to each other, we can maybe exchange phone numbers for faster communication or emergencies.
Gear: Bring your own supplies and gear. Use whatever you like. This isn’t a tutorial thing. Each person can do whatever they prefer at the location we choose.

Feel free to bring snacks, significant others, kids, dogs, whatever! It’s up to you. However it might be easier if you leave the rambunctious little ones at home if you plan on getting any painting done!

How did it start? I emigrated here from Colorado USA in 2017, and only just recently started dipping my toes in the local art community. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly! I really miss meeting up with friends for hikes and painting, so I decided to make this little meet-up group.
